 NANAY Youth Council Aids Katrina Victims

Miami, FL - October 2005

On October 2, 2005 members of the NANAY Youth Council participated in the fundraising activities held on the grounds of the Museum of Contemporary Arts (MOCA) in North Miami.

Forming a choir, the NANAY Youth Council entertained the guests and potential donors with their rendition of popular songs and performed while Dada Dequito and John Balauat of "Heart and Sol", also volunteers of NANAY, rendered beautiful song renditions to the delight of the crowd.

The fundraising event was sponsored by the City of North Miami, with the able leadership of Mayor Kevin Burns, and raised several thousand dollars that were later sent to the Gulf Coast to help the families that were devastated by Hurricane Katrina.

This is community in action.
